Kingston City District 8 Councillor Jeff McLaren is seeking approval from council to be appointed to the development board of a new, soon to be incorporated non-profit housing co-operative, Limestone City Co-operative Housing. The co-operative housing units would allow more options for affordable housing in the city. There are no specific sites in mind as of yet, but if the organization becomes incorporated, it will then discuss future proceedings with council. In a news release put out by McLaren, he states why he believes housing co-operatives are beneficial for residents.“Co-ops require a minimum of volunteer time for the betterment of the co-op, which both encourages a sense of pride and community through self-governance and working toward a common cause, while also lowering ongoing operating costs,” he said. The decision will be made at the March 21 council meeting whether or not McLaren will be on the development board for the new group.Update as of March 2...Over $19,000 in fines issued throughout St. Patrick’s Day weekend

(CNN) — We’ve had people tracking their bags when airlines can’t find them. Now here’s something new: a passenger tracking an item she left on a plane — to an airport employee’s home.Earlier in March, Alisabeth Hayden, from Washington state in the US, was separated from her AirPods — Apple’s pricey micro headphones — while disembarking from a plane in San Francisco.
